Voices In Praise is a uniformed choir with both casual and formal uniforms. We usually wear casual uniforms on the Sundays that we sing and formal uniforms for special performances.
Each VIP is assigned a numbered casual and formal uniform. These uniforms belong to the church, but it is the choir member’s responsibility to keep track of his/her uniforms. Both casual and formal uniforms should stay in each VIP’s dress bag in the music room. When VIPs need to take their formal uniforms home, they should remove their casual uniform and leave it in the music room closet, and then take their formal uniform home in the dress bag.
Casual Uniforms
VIP girls are given white tank tops and blue cardigans. They should wear black pants or black skirt, black tights or pantyhose, and low-heeled black shoes.
VIP guys are given blue polo shirts, and are expected to wear a white T-shirt or tank underneath, black pants, black socks, and black shoes.
VIP casual cardigans and polo shirts are not to be taken home. They are dry clean only and are cleaned at no cost to choir members during the year.
Formal Uniforms
VIP girls are given black dresses. They should wear black tights or pantyhose and low-heeled black dress shoes. Before we perform, VIP girls are given silver sashes to wear. The sashes should be returned right after the performance. Assistance in ironing sashes is one way parents may volunteer to help the choir.
VIP guys are given black dress shirts and silver ties. They are expected to wear black pants, black socks, and black shoes.
VIPs should take their formal uniforms home and wash them following each performance.
